Bound, 2017

I began this piece very similarly to the other I have made, however I allowed my subconscious to have more of a role in creating this piece. I surrounded myself with the materials I had available to me and allowed myself to zone out and grab whatever materials I chose at that current time with less thought than I normally give to a piece. I tried to limit my time on this piece, as I would do with previous drawing exercises, as I feel that working quickly can often make work more expressive and different to the pieces I spend more time on. I restricted myself to one hour.

I thought that this piece was very interesting and the darker themes that become apparent have come from my own mind with little thought to what I wanted to convey. This piece of work was inspired by the way Louise Bourgeois makes work and how she works from her subconscious.
