For this term's body of work I have continued to work within the medium of sculpture, primarily soft sculpture, focusing on the human body and exploring ways of portraying this through art. I have become more aware of how the context of a piece of work can have an impact on how the work is perceived and in what ways I can control this. I have been exploring how to display my work by showing the same pieces of work in alternative ways and trying to assess what works well and what doesn't. I think it is important to revisit work and find new ways to display pieces until the desired ideas are portrayed, this can include where the piece is displayed along with how.
This term has also pushed me to think more about why I make work, the reasons my pieces. This has been fueled by Louise Bourgeois and her use of psychoanalysis, this is something I want to continue exploring. I will consider keeping notes and diaries of the ideas that come to mind when I am making work in the future.
