Plastic Hands

Following on from making the orange doll and the stitched heads I had run out of the orange and grey material I had been using as a "skin," I was left with the plastic bags and half a duvet I had been using to stuff the sculptures. I decided to sew into the plastic bags and stuff them into the shape of a hand, I tried to attach each joint of the hand separately so it would move more realistically, by doing this the hand became very animated. I found the plastic bag easier to work with than I had anticipated, it tore very easily, however it was easy to manipulate to hide the damage. Overall this was an experiment with different materials and the outcome was better than I had expected.
