Eric Bainbridge is a sculptor who became known for his object based works covered in synthetic fur. During the talk he spoke of a material becoming a skin for the objects which interested me because i have been representing skin within my own work. One piece that particularly interested me was the Madonna piece in Forward Thinking. I found that the use of the bright furry material to cover the figure sparked some ideas for my own work. Before the artist talk i had not considered the use of materials other than something that looked like skin, such as tights in my sculptures. I felt the sculptures were incredibly tactile and played with the idea of childhood through the comfort of the material.
