Stitched Heart

Using leftover scraps of material from the nylon people project I made a heart shaped form from stuffing nylon tights, I manipulated cardboard into tube like structures and attached them to the form by sewing them. I then painted the tights a bright red colour with acrylic paints and added darker tones using a sponge. I used thread to add details. In my opinion, this piece of work varies from my other projects as, although it is a human body part, I usually work with limbs and not organs. I think this is because it is much easier for me to work from parts of the body I can see, I can compare my work to my own body, which I can't do with internal organs.
